When students come to The Literacy Coalition’s Learning Center in Austin, Texas, they know right away that our teachers are dedicated to their success, no matter how long it takes. ![]() She has just finished her first semester with A’s and B’s. Despite all of the challenges and difficult times, Christina stuck with it and successfully earned her GED in May of 2022!Ĭhristina is now enrolled in college and is working to earn a degree in human resources where she would like to give back to this community. Christina has dealt with a multitude of stressors, from familial struggles to past incarceration. Literacy is a powerful tool that opens doors to endless opportunity, as it did for Christina.Ĭhristina joined The Literacy Coalition in 2016 as a student in The Learning Center to earn her GED with the goal of pursuing higher education.
